What is a robot without its chassis? As a member of Fabrication, it’s your job to ensure that the team never has to find out. We machine parts based on designs for a wide variety of materials, including aluminum, acrylic, and even sometimes wood that make up the core of the robot. We also act as the primary group for robot assembly–watching your pieces get used to assemble a robot before your very eyes (and hands) is incredibly rewarding. Still unsure? Fabrication also is a major part of the prototyping process; we make sure that the ideas the entire team generates work before Design makes them into drawings.
