Communications

The Communications subgroup is, at its core, a writing subgroup. We submit for awards, creating various essays, presentations, and business plans. The subgroup offers different types of writing that might not be taught in classes, such as technical and collaborative writing.

• Woodie Flowers Award: an essay that nominates an inspiring mentor of the team.

• Woodie Flowers Award: an essay that nominates an inspiring mentor of the team.

• Chairman’s Award: an essay, a series of short answer questions, a 3-minute video, and a 7-minute memorized presentation presented to judges at competition to show how our team emulates the values of FIRST.

• Press releases: overviews of events we’ve held.

• Pit Duty training: training students on the team on technical and non-technical questions they might be asked during competitions.

• Good for people who are interested in advancing their writing skills.
